Australia: Home Loans rise by 1.0% in August

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The home loans in Australia grew by 1.0% in August 2010, below expectations of a 1.5% increase sending AUD/USD around 15 pips lower to the 0.9870 zone.

"In trend terms, the number of commitments for the construction of dwellings fell 1.9%, while the number of commitments for the purchase of established dwellings rose 0.6% and the number of commitments for the purchase of new dwellings rose 0.3%", said the Australian Bureau of Statistics today.
