European equities finishing the day ahead
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The European session is shrugging off fresh rumors of Greek default and racing towards the closing bell with gains on the day. All major indices dipped lower mid-morning, only to rebound steadily over the course of the session.
The FTSE 100 posts gains of 0.57% with the banking sector leading the way. Barclays' shares are up 3.00% along with HSBC Holdings up 2.77%.
Following in line are the Paris-based CAC 40 boasting 0.55% gains and the Frankfurt-based DAX up 0.34%. Moreover, the STOXX EURO 50 is up 0.91%, posting a 52-week high.
